Happy Wednesday!
It’s hard to believe another month has come and gone and the girls are eight months old. Time is going by so fast! They say “The days are long but the years are short” and so far that seems to be very true.
If you missed the girls’ previous monthly updates, you can read them here:

Meredith
Weight/Length: The girls don’t have a well check this month, so I’m not sure how long they are, but I’m guessing Meredith is about 16.5 pounds.
Clothing Size: She is in mostly 9 month clothing, but some 6-9 sizes fit her.
Likes: Sticking her tongue out and when you stick your tongue out at her. That will always make her smile! She also loves rolling around.
Dislikes: Teething. She has been fussy off and on during the month and the culprit seems to be those pesky teeth coming in!
Milestones: Crawling! Meredith has been getting up on all fours and rocking back and forth and she took one small “step” Sunday night. She is going to be mobile so soon. She also has her first tooth about to pop through! And a few weeks ago was her first Thanksgiving!
Natalie
Weight/Length: The girls don’t have a well check this month, so I’m not sure how long they are, but I’m guessing Natalie is about 17.5 pounds.
Clothing Size: She is mostly in 9 month clothes, but some 6-9 sizes fit her.
Likes: Playing peekaboo! It makes her giggle and it is so cute. She also loves the dogs and has started reaching out to pet them.
Dislikes: Teething. Poor baby.
Milestones: Natalie got her first two teeth this month! She is also working on sitting up unassisted and scooting around. We celebrated her first Thanksgiving too!
Both Girls
Sleep: Overall, their sleep has been significantly better! The girls have learned to self soothe and most of the time we can put them in their cribs for naps and bedtime and they will fall asleep within 5 minutes. They wake up a few times in the night still and most of the time put themselves back to sleep.
However, that was all prior to last week. All of a sudden there are multiple wake-ups in the night and the girls are having trouble self soothing. I don’t know if it’s teething, a growth spurt, or the 8 month sleep regression. Or something else entirely! For now we are riding it out and we’ll see what the next few weeks bring. I’m hoping things will return to “normal” very soon!
Food/Eating: Meredith and Natalie have been very hungry this month! They are taking four 6-8 ounce bottles a day, plus solids 3 times a day. We have been slowly increasing the amount of solid food they’re getting and giving them chunkier purees in preparation for starting actual food around 9 months! This month the girls tried mango and avocado and loved them both!
Schedule: Once again their schedule is a work in a progress. We are currently transitioning to 2 naps a day because they rarely take an afternoon catnap anymore which has led to many days of fussy, overtired babies. Hopefully after an adjustment period this new schedule will work better for them. We will see! I’ll report back next month.
Mom and Dad: We are doing great! There has been so much change with the girls lately and it’s been so fun to watch them develop and learn. Chris and I constantly say to each other we can’t believe how big they’re getting. Eight months has gone by way too fast!
We have a date coming up this weekend that we are both very excited about! This will only be the third time we have left the girls since they were born, but now that they’re getting a little bit older, we are going to try and have a date night once a month. Easier said than done!
And now for more pictures of the babies!
This month was so much fun with Meredith and Natalie! We are enjoying the holidays with them and it is so special to celebrate with kids. I know the girls don’t understand the concept of Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas yet but Chris and I have loved celebrating with them! We are looking forward to their first Christmas and seeing what month nine has in store for us!
