Hello and Happy Wednesday!
We are officially in nesting mode in our house. Chris and I have been decluttering and organizing and we are slowly making our way through various areas of our house. Our home is definitely in transition right now as we prepare for the arrival of our two sweet girls in April!
One room in our house neither of us were loving was the game room. Chris and I weren’t sure what to do with this space when we first moved into our house two years ago. It’s open to the living room, so that’s nice, but it’s a bit of an awkward space. We decided to turn it into a game room and bought a pool table for $50 online. Yes, you read that right, our pool table was $50. It was a heck of a deal! But to be honest, we just haven’t used the pool table as much as we thought we would. When we found out we are adding two members to our family, we decided we should transition that space into something else that would be used more. Chris came up with the brilliant idea to turn the game room into our dining room and I was on board!
First things first, the pool table had to go. I listed it on OfferUp and it didn’t take long for it to find a new home. After that, since Chris had the vision for our new dining room space, I let him take the lead on this “project”. He moved all of the furniture from our old dining room into the new dining space. We were even able to add in the table leaf and expand our dining room table, so that was a nice bonus.

I have to say, I was a little bit skeptical, but I am so glad I trusted Chris. I love having this space as our dining room and it has gotten so much more use in recent weeks. It’s not totally done yet; I want to hang some decorations and buy a rug for under the table. I also want to recover the chairs. But those things will come in time.
Are you wondering what we are going to do with the space that was previously our dining room?
That will be turning into a playroom! It’s pretty empty right now, but I promise to share the finished product when we are done with it. We are also turning our guest room into the nursery and our workout room into a combination guest room/home gym. We even have a laundry room project that’s in progress. Like I said, our house is totally in transition right now!
We have a lot of work to do before April, but I am confident we can get it done. Stay tuned, I will share all of the transformations when we’re finished. Thank you for following along!
