Happy Thursday!
I have another vacation recap coming at you today! Are you noticing a trend? If you missed my recap of our Bahamas cruise you can read it HERE.
A month after Chris and I got back from the Bahamas, we were off to San Diego for a weekend getaway to celebrate some friends getting married!
We flew out of Dallas early Thursday morning and arrived in San Diego around 11am. Perfect timing for an early lunch! I had requested lunch at Rocking’ Baja Lobster in the Gaslamp Quarter and luckily Chris was totally on board. We sat outside and shared a seafood “bucket” and enjoyed the afternoon.
After lunch, Chris decided we needed to take advantage of the scooter fad and rent some scooters to ride around. Honestly, I wasn’t so sure about this idea, but I went along with it, and I’m glad I did. It was so much fun! We rode down by Seaport Village and the beach and had a blast!
After that we checked into our hotel and relaxed for a bit. I was 14 weeks pregnant on this trip and had started to feel a little bit better, but I still needed some downtime. We hung out in our room for a few hours then ventured back to the Gaslamp Quarter for dinner. I don’t remember the name of the restaurant we ate at, but it wasn’t very memorable that’s for sure. It was an ok dinner and we decided to head back to the hotel when we were done eating. Once again, we rented scooters and turned a 15 minute walk into a 5 minute ride. It was very convenient!
The next morning we took our time getting ready, then drove to La Jolla for lunch next to the ocean. I did a little bit of research and decided Dukes was what I wanted to have for lunch. It was delicious and the view was beautiful! Even though we used to live in California staring at the ocean never gets old.
After lunch, Chris and I drove to Fallbrook which is where our friends were getting married. We checked into our hotel, freshened up, and headed to the wedding. It was a beautiful ceremony and we were so happy to be able to witness our friends getting married!
Early the next morning we drove back down to San Diego and boarded our plane home to Dallas. It was a quick weekend trip, but we had a blast! If you are going to be in the San Diego area anytime soon, I hope this post serves as inspiration for a few things you can do while you’re there.
Have you been to San Diego? What are your recommendations for things to do there?
