Welcome back to my blog! I meant to get this post up a long time ago, but life is incredibly busy and time got away from me. We are juggling two full time jobs, raising two toddlers, getting ready for baby #3, and trying to keep our home from becoming a complete disaster zone. Life is crazy and about to get crazier!
If you missed my previous posts on how we got here (spoiler alert: we did IVF again), you can check those out HERE. And now onto my first trimester recap!

4 weeks: My blood test on 10/2/2020 confirmed I was pregnant! On that day I was exactly 4 weeks.

5 weeks: I had 2 more blood tests this week that confirmed my HCG levels were rising appropriately. We also took a family trip to the Dallas Arboretum.

6 weeks: My nausea started this week. I wasn’t surprised because I was so sick during my pregnancy with the girls, so I figured I would be sick this time around too. Still not fun though. We took the girls to a local pumpkin patch that week too.
We also completely shocked our families with the news that we are having another baby! Chris and I didn’t tell anyone that we were doing another embryo transfer, so our families had no idea that kind of news was coming. We got the girls “Big Sister” shirts and told them that way. They were all very surprised and excited!

7 weeks: My nausea got really bad and I started medication this week. I also had my first ultrasound and to our relief, we saw a healthy baby! During that appointment we found out the gender too! That’s one perk of doing IVF: if you do PGS testing ,which we did, you can find out the gender whenever you want. Chris and I agreed to wait until after the first ultrasound and seeing a healthy baby to find out the gender, which is what we did with the girls too. It turns out the girls are going to have a little brother!
8 weeks: I started throwing up this week. We also celebrated Halloween with some friends. Fun fact: My friend, Amanda and I were both pregnant at the time (we are due one day apart) but hadn’t publicly announced our pregnancies yet, so there are actually 8 babies in this picture, but no one knew.

9 weeks: The exhaustion set in this week and my sickness continued. I also had another ultrasound and we graduated from the fertility doctor!

10 weeks: I had my first appointment with my OB. Since I had a csection last time, I will not go past 39 weeks this pregnancy, so we can expect baby boy to arrive around the first week of June.
11 Weeks: I was still tired and sick, throwing up about 1-2 times a week.
12 Weeks: This was the week of Thanksgiving. This was also the last week of my IVF medications and my last shot!

13 Weeks: I was still exhausted but my nausea seemed to be getting somewhat better.
14 Weeks: Just kidding, I started throwing up again. This week was officially the end of the first trimester!
And that sums up the first trimester of my pregnancy with baby #3! It seemed like time went really slow because I felt so sick, but obviously all of the sickness and exhaustion is worth it. It’s just rough getting through it!
Stay tuned for my second trimester post, which will be coming up soon!
