Happy Friday!
It’s almost the weekend, woo hoo! Just one more day of work to get through and then the weekend will officially begin. I haven’t done a Friday Favorites post in awhile, so I figured it was time to round up a few things I’ve been enjoying this week!
- 100 Days of Real Food On a Budget cookbook: I was selected to be a cookbook ambassador for Lisa Leake’s new cookbook and I am SO excited! This cookbook is right up my alley! Healthy, easy meals on a budget? Yes please. I received a sneak peak at a few recipes earlier in the week and my cookbook arrived yesterday. I can’t wait to try out some of the recipes next week and I will be sharing my review on the blog very soon, so stay tuned!
- Band of Brothers: This is a TV miniseries that aired on HBO in 2001. It follows the journey of Easy Company, an elite team of Paratroopers, during World War II. Chris and I watched it years ago and we re-watched it this week. We both love it. It really puts things into perspective and I can’t imagine what those men experienced on their combat tour through Europe, which began in Normandy on D-Day.

- Sweet Potato Vine: I planted some sweet potato vines in flower pots on our porch last summer and they never really took off. I’m not quite sure what the problem was, but I was hesitant to plant more this summer. I kept hearing how sweet potato vines usually thrive in the Texas heat, so I gave it another shot this year. I planted them directly into a flower bed and they have grown so much! I am loving them! It looks like they’re spilling out of our flower bed and I think it looks so cool. I am definitely a fan of sweet potato vine now!
- Weddings: Who doesn’t love weddings? It’s so fun to watch loved ones say “I Do” and it always makes me feel all lovey-dovey. It takes me back to mine and Chris’ wedding day and I can’t help but remember how I was feeling when we said our vows. This past weekend we attended the wedding of some friends and had a great time! We have 2 more weddings coming up this fall and we can’t wait. So much love!
Well, I think that’s going to wrap up today’s Friday Favorites. I love writing these posts because it’s always a reminder of how many things there are to be thankful for! We don’t have much planned for this weekend, except possibly re-doing our game room, but we’ll see if that pans out. In the meantime, I hope you all have a great weekend!
