Happy Monday!
It’s hard to believe that we have another baby and it’s already time to resume monthly update posts. I wrote these posts for the girls’ first year and I am so glad I did, so of course I had to do the same for Henry. Life has been BUSY to say the least! But I’m glad to be barely getting Henry’s one month post up before he turns two months old later this week. Small victories, right? If you want to hear how our boy is doing, keep reading below!
Weight/Length: Henry is 5 pounds, 7.8 ounces and 17 inches long.
Clothing Size: Premie!
Likes: Eating and tummy time.
Dislikes: Not a giant fan of diaper changes and baths.
Sleep: In typical newborn fashion, Henry sleeps great during the day and not so great at night. We think he has his days and nights confused so we are working on that.
Eating: He is currently taking 1.5-2oz bottles every 3 hours.
Schedule: We aren’t on a schedule yet since Henry is still so young and we are flying by the seat of our pants most days. But he does eat every 3 hours, typically around 12, 3, 6, and 9 AM and PM.
Milestones: Graduating from the NICU! Since Henry was born early and small, he spent the first four weeks of his life in the NICU. It was a great day when we were finally able to bring him home!
Mom and Dad: To be honest, this was a very bittersweet month. Chris and I are so excited that Henry is here safely, but having your baby in the NICU is really hard. We visited him every day but saying goodbye to your child every day really takes a toll. I cried every day when we had to leave him and it was truly heart breaking. Even though our hospital has the best NICU in the area and he was in great hands, we wanted him home with us and it was very hard on our hearts. It was also a challenge to juggle spending time with the girls and keeping life as normal as possible for them, while also visiting Henry in the NICU. We were so excited when he finally got to come home and now life as a family of 5 is truly beginning!
It has been so sweet finally having Henry home and watching the girls interact with him. I am thankful everyday for our family and our precious little boy. Stay tuned for Henry’s two month update coming soon!
