Happy Wednesday!
I started a Bucket List series on Monday with my Dallas Bucket List post (you can read it HERE). Today I am continuing that series by sharing my Travel Bucket List.
I mentioned in my travel gallery wall post that I love to travel. I even have an entire Pinterest board devoted to the places I want to visit! I think I really got the travel bug when I was in high school and I went on my first trip to Europe. I absolutely loved it! It was amazing to experience another culture and visit some of the historical sites in the area.
From that point on, I tried to travel whenever I got the chance. I was fortunate enough to study abroad in France when I was in college and it was one of the best experiences of my life. I attended class in Strasbourg, France during the week and traveled on the weekends. We ventured to Munich, Brussels, Paris, Rome, and Switzerland. It was truly the experience of a lifetime!
A few years ago, I was given the opportunity to travel to Italy for business. The parent company of my previous employer was headquartered about an hour from Venice and I was able to stay an extra day to explore Venice. It was awesome!
I think it’s pretty obvious I love to travel, especially internationally. Many of the places on my Travel Bucket List are in other countries, but not all of them. I have been to some awesome places right here in the Unites States and there are plenty of stateside locations on my bucket list too.
Without further ado…
My Travel Bucket List
- England/Wales
I have always wanted to go to England and it’s been on my bucket list for a long time. I want to see all the touristy things like the London Eye, Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, etc. After Chris and I got married, we decided we need to go Wales too when we make the trek to England. Morgan (our last name) is Welsh, so we really want to check out that area as well.
- Ireland
I have dreams of celebrating St Patrick’s Day in Ireland one day. I’m not sure if that will ever happen, but I will be happy with a trip to Ireland regardless. High on my list is to see the Cliffs of Moher and lets be honest, I have to check out the Guiness Storehouse and Jameson Distillery if I’m there. We are hoping we can combine Ireland and England into one trip, but we’ll see how it all plays out when that day comes.
- New York
I’ve been telling Chris for years I want to go to New York at Christmas-time so I can see the Rockefeller tree. I think I may have even mentioned it on our first or second date. One day we will make it happen! I also want to see a Broadway show, go to the Statue of Liberty, walk through Central Park, and pay my respects at the 9/11 Memorial. I am hoping we can make this trip happen in the next few years.
- Orlando
I really want to go to Orlando because I want to go to Epcot, Animal Kingdom, and Disneyworld. Chris and I actually had a trip planned for last winter but we decided not to go due to his chemotherapy treatments. We wanted to be able to go when we could enjoy it. Hopefully that day will come sooner than later!
- Alaskan Cruise
I have wanted to go on an Alaskan cruise for years. I’ve heard they’re amazing and they always get rave reviews. I’m not a huge beach person, so a cruise through Alaska with beautiful scenery is totally up my alley. I hear you can see lots of wildlife on these cruises such as whales, seals, bald eagles, bears, etc and I would love to see those animals in their natural habitat. I think it would be an amazing trip.
- Cancun
Chris and I want to experience an all inclusive resort someday and Cancun seems like a great place to do it! It’s somewhere we’ve never been and several of our friends have been and loved it. I think I could become a beach bunny for a few days if we were in Cancun.
- Magnolia Market
Lucky for us, this destination is right down the road! Waco is about an hour and a half south of Dallas and this will be one of the first places we venture when Chris is allowed to travel. I have to see Magnolia Market and the home of Chip and Joanna Gaines for myself!
- Greece
Greece may be at the top of my bucket list. Ever since the first time I saw a picture of Santorini, I have been itching to go. The blue water and white houses are something I hope to see with my own eyes someday.
- San Francisco.
I’m not sure how Chris and I lived in California for so many years and never ventured to San Francisco, but this is another place on my Travel Bucket List. Not only do I want to see the city, Alcatraz, and the Golden Gate Bridge, but I hear wine country is only an hour away. Seeing San Francisco and experiencing wine country in one trip? Yes please!
- Boston
Chris and I love history and we’ve talked about doing an East Coast road trip where we drive around and see all of the historical sites we can see. Not sure if that will ever happen, but we can dream! Whether we make it a road trip or a weekend getaway, Boston is on my list of places to visit.
These aren’t all of the places on my Travel Bucket List, but they are my top 10. If I’m planning a vacation, there’s a good chance I’m suggesting one of the places on this list. And hey, I always need some new spoons to add to my collection!

Since you both enjoy history, you’re going to love Boston (but bring your wallets).
