Happy Monday!
I know I say this every week, but this weekend went by way too fast. I blinked and it was Sunday night before I knew it. At least this will be a short week due to the Thanksgiving holiday. That’s something to look forward to!
Chris and I had a great weekend together. As the title of this post states, we are out of quarantine! Mostly. We are still supposed to avoid crowds, but Chris is allowed to start venturing outside of our house. He hasn’t left the house, except to go to the doctor, in 2 months! He has been such a trooper. Obviously we are so thankful for the reason he was quarantined at home, but anyone would go a little stir crazy after not leaving the house for that amount of time. I am so proud of him, he has followed all of his post-transplant instructions to a T and not complained one bit. Last week the doctors cleared him to go out in public and they also cleared him to go back to work! Today is his first day back since his kidney transplant. It is so amazing what a difference 2 months makes. We are so thankful.
We went into the weekend in great spirits knowing that life is continuing to get back to a new normal.
Friday
Friday night we stayed in and watched Stranger Things. Have you guys seen it? Chris and I decided to watch the first episode earlier in the week to see what all the fuss is about and we were immediately hooked. So, Friday night we watched two more episodes after we ate dinner. It’s so good!
Saturday
Saturday I ran a bunch of errands in preparation for Thanksgiving on Thursday. I stopped in Target while I was out and found the cutest card holder for $3! I never know what to do with the Christmas cards we get in the mail and I usually end up putting them on our refrigerator, so I was super excited to find this cute card holder. And for $3, you can’t go wrong. I can’t wait until I can start filling it with Christmas cards!
I felt like baking after I got home from running errands so I made two more loaves of the Banana Pumpkin Bread I posted about last week. It is seriously so good!
As I mentioned earlier, Chris has been cleared to start going out in public, yay! So we went on our first date night in over two months on Saturday night! We went to an early dinner (5:30 haha) to try and avoid crowds and we had a great time! I know I say this a lot, but I am just so thankful for where we are at. Chris and I never take the little things for granted and we enjoyed every second of our date night. We went to a Tex Mex restaurant and it was delicious. We talked and laughed and people watched. I hoped for a long time that we would get to this place of being able to enjoy a date night without nausea medicine and rushing through dinner to get home. We are finally there and it’s great!
Would you be surprised if I told you we watched more Stranger Things when we got home from dinner? Or that we finished the first season Saturday night? It was a great way to top off our evening!
Sunday
Sunday was a low key day at home. We stayed in comfy clothes all day and it was amazing. I meal prepped for the week, then Chris and I started organizing one of our spare bedroom closets. We got about halfway through before we were hungry for lunch, so I would consider that a success. We’ll finish organizing it another weekend.
This is what Lyssa and Levi did all day.
Lazy dogs 🙂
I made one of my “regular” recipes for dinner Sunday night: mustard herb chicken. It was delicious and we had pasta and green beans on the side.
We continued the trend of the weekend after dinner and started season two of Stranger Things. We’re drawn in already!
So, that was our weekend. And I have to say it was a good one! We enjoyed lots of quality time at home and we had our first post-transplant date night. I definitely wasn’t ready for this weekend to end.
