I follow several other bloggers and many of them post on Fridays about the things that have made them happy during the week. I think it’s a great idea and I feel inspired to follow in their footsteps. No matter what the week has held, it’s always a good idea to focus on the (big and small) things that are making you smile during the week.
I mentioned last week that I am going to be launching my new blog on this site, hopefully soon. It will be focused on positive, stress-free living and the things I am doing to live life to the fullest. I think this series will fit in perfectly with plans for my new blog!
Without further ado, welcome to my new series Friday Favorites!
My Favorites This Week
- Gratitude Journal: I blogged at the beginning of the year that one of my goals for 2018 was to write in my gratitude journal every day. I am proud to say I have done just that! I haven’t missed one day so far this year and I don’t plan on that changing anytime soon. I had a few “blah” days this week and my gratitude journal forced me to focus on the good thing(s) that happened that day, even if it was a cheeseburger for dinner. (Yes, I wrote that one day). I really love my journal and it is something I will continue writing in for years to come!
- Motion Sensor Faucet: Last summer part of the handle on our kitchen sink faucet fell off. It wasn’t a huge deal and our faucet continued to work just fine, so we didn’t do anything about it. Chris and I decided we would upgrade the faucet at some point in time, but being the financially-minded people that we are, we agreed to wait for a sale. About two months ago, there was a 1 day sale on THIS motion sensor faucet and we jumped on it. It arrived a week later and has been sitting in our dining room until last weekend when Chris installed it. So far I am loving it! I feel very fancy having a motion sensor faucet, but it has already come in handy. We had chicken burgers for dinner this week and I didn’t have to touch anything when I went to the sink to wash my hands. It is so convenient. I love it!
- Young Living Sclaressence Oil: This may be TMI, but I’m going to share anyways. This week was that time of the month for me and as any woman knows, the symptoms that come along with it are just not fun. I’ve blogged before about Young Living essential oils but I have found yet another use for them. PMS! Sclaressence has Clary Sage, Peppermint, Sage Lavender, and Fennel in it and can relieve “hormonal and digestive systems”. I have been using this oil during that time of the month since I got it in February and it works wonders. I put one drop under my tongue and it really eases my symptoms, especially cramps. It’s been a total game changer for me. Definitely loving Sclaressence this week!
(Definitely reach out to me if you have any questions about essential oils. I’ll share with you what products I’ve tried so far)
- PIYO: It’s no secret that I have struggled with a fitness routine over the last year. I find myself getting easily bored with workouts and my motivation has been seriously lacking. My friend, Kaitlyn, and I started PIYO a few weeks ago and we’re still going strong. If you’ve never heard of it, PIYO is a Beachbody program that combines Pilates and Yoga. I did this program about 2 years ago and I forgot how much I love it. It’s kind of surprising to me that I can get good results without intense cardio or weight lifting, but it’s possible! So, for now PIYO is my workout of choice and I am loving it.
Well, that concludes my first Friday Favorites post! We are heading out of town this weekend for a little getaway and I think it will be lots of fun! I’ll report back next week.
