It’s Friday! Time to start the happy dance. Just kidding, I never dance. I have no rhythm and I’m ok with it.
This has been a pretty good week overall I have to say. It went by fast and I always like it when that happens.
We sent out our Christmas cards early in the week, woo hoo. Coming soon (or maybe it’s already arrived) to a mailbox near you.
The dogs got new dog beds.
Levi got himself in trouble by tearing some leaves off of our mini Christmas tree.
(Lyssa wanted to be in the picture, but we all know who the guilty dog is. I may have to do a Dog Shaming Round 2 post in the near future)
And I have stayed mostly on track with my new fitness routine! So in the spirit of that, I figured I would do a fitness themed week-in-review today. I posted on Monday about restarting my fitness journey and holding myself accountable. One of the best ways for me personally to do that is to share how it’s going and the highs and the lows. This week has been full of mostly highs though!
On Monday, I started the day off right with a Dirty 30 workout.
This is one of my favorite 21 Day Fix workouts. It’s a total body, strength training work out.
After I got my sweat on, I made a Vanilla Vegan Shakeology shake for breakfast and that kept me full for several hours.
Then off I went to work. It always takes some extra motivation to head into the office on Monday, right?
I had a yogurt, granola, and strawberry snack in the mid-morning. When lunchtime rolled around I busted out the quinoa salad I prepped for the week. I also had a small salad on the side to get some extra veggies in. It was tasty!
That night I was so excited to see a Blue Apron box on our door step when I got home! I wrote a post a few weeks ago about how much I love Blue Apron and this week is no exception. I made Shrimp Bucatini on Monday and it was done in no time.
Tuesday pretty much followed the same pattern in the morning.
Morning workout.
Shakeology for breakfast. And lots of water to go with it.
Head to the office, mid-morning snack. I wasn’t as great with my lunch that day because I went out to my lunch with my mom who is visiting from California. I picked a Tex Mex place for lunch (my favorite!) so you know I had to have chips and queso. Whoops, there went my carbs for the day. It was worth it though, they were delicious.
Our Blue Apron dinner that night was Spiced Pork Tacos with Roasted Butternut Squash.
They were yummy! It was a Mexican food kind of day, can you tell?
Wednesday I started my day off on the right foot with another workout and Shakeology.
I was back on track for lunch that day with my cold quinoa salad. I also added in some extra veggies because I had leftover butternut squash from dinner the night before. I’m always trying to get in my daily vegetables!
The rest of the day seemed to go by pretty fast and it was time to go home before I knew it. Wednesday was our last Blue Apron dinner of the week which always makes me sad. We saved the best for last though because the Sheet Pan Deviled Chicken was my favorite meal of the week. Not only was it delicious, everything baked in the oven on a sheet pan (hence the name of the recipe) which meant it was an easy recipe with minimal cleanup.
Win-win.
Can you guess how I started my day Thursday? That’s right… A workout and Shakeology.
I went out to lunch again Thursday but I followed my meal plan better. We went to a deli and I had soup and ½ a sandwich. It was yummy! And it’s always nice to get out of the office.
Thursday night I made a delicious sausage and veggie sheet pan dinner. It was super easy and healthy. I definitely recommend this one!
This morning I am taking a rest day so I did not work out. But I still feel like I started my day off on the right track with coffee, blogging, and Shakeology for breakfast.
I have to say, I’m very proud of myself for staying on track this week. Getting started is always the hardest part of beginning a new routine. And lets be honest, the holidays aren’t the easiest time of year to work out and watch what you’re eating. There are cookies and desserts everywhere! I will indulge a little bit but I plan to keep myself on track the rest of the time.
Thanks for helping me hold myself accountable this week! When I know I will be sharing how I’m doing, it’s a little extra motivation to stay on track.
Hope you all have a great weekend!
