Hello and Happy Monday!
Long time no talk…
Sorry about that. Life has been busy! Chris and I have really been focusing on enjoying life now that we are able to get out and about. And I have to say, it has been really nice! We are homebodies are heart, but there’s nothing like a year and a half at home to teach you to get out a little bit. We decided awhile ago that 2018 is going to be our bucket list year and we are going to cross as many things off our list as possible. I’m happy to say we have been doing just that! We have been focused on our Dallas Bucket List but we have a big vacation coming up next month that will cross a destination off our Travel Bucket list. We are so excited!
So what have we been doing around the area?
Dallas Arboretum
A few weeks ago, some of our friends were in town and we all ventured out to the Dallas Arboretum. It was during ‘Dallas Blooms’ and there were tulips everywhere. It was beautiful! Fun fact: tulips are my favorite flower, so I was really in heaven!
Steak 101 Class
This past weekend Chris and I finally participated in a Steak 101 class! A little backstory here: I was given this as a gift on my 29th birthday over a year ago. As Chris’ kidneys failed he was on a very strict diet that included no red meat. So obviously, we couldn’t take advantage of the steak class during that time. His transplant was during the fall and Steak 101 classes do not run in the winter, so we have been anxiously waiting for their spring classes to open up. This past weekend we were finally able to put our gift card to use!
The class was really fun! It’s broken up into three different sections: information on the beef industry, demonstration on the various cuts of meat, and tasting! We had a great time and it was really awesome to get out and do something different.
Dallas World Aquarium
We also went to the Dallas World Aquarium this past weekend! We took an impromptu trip with some friends of ours and had a blast. The aquarium is very large inside with tons of different animals you can see up close. We saw various fish, sting rays, penguins, crocodiles, monkeys, otters, and even a manatee. If you are in Dallas, I highly recommend checking out the Dallas World Aquarium. We had a great time!
Including dinner at Reunion Tower for my birthday, we have crossed 4 things off our Dallas Bucket List so far this year! I am so proud of us! We have had a great time exploring the sights in our area and hope to explore more very soon. Stay tuned for details on our bucket list trip coming next month!
In other news, as the title of this blog post implies, there is a new blog coming soon to this site. I have felt a little uninspired by ‘Authentically Amanda’ lately and after lots of thought, I have decided to take my blog in a different direction. I hope to have my new blog live on this site very soon. So be on the lookout for that!
